Cat Skiing BC

 Skiing , White Grizzly

If you're heading to White Grizzly this winter for epic cat skiing BC terrain and waist-deep pow, why not go one step further? New for the 2024–2025 season, you can now add a guided ski touring or splitboarding adventure to your cat skiing vacation. In partnership with our sister company, Kootenay Backcountry Guides, we’re offering fully guided, human-powered trips in the heart of the Kootenay backcountry the perfect yin to your cat skiing yang.

Think untouched terrain, deep lines, small groups, and professional ACMG guides leading the way. Whether you're chasing the silence of the skin track or looking to explore beyond the cat roads, our new touring program is your gateway to skiing deep snow in some of Canada's most pristine terrain.

Who’s It For?

Everyone! Whether you're a seasoned backcountry skier or brand new to touring, we’ve got you covered. Our guides cater to all experience levels  from total newbies to powder veterans.

You’ll get:

  • Professional instruction and terrain management by ACMG-certified guides
  • Low-ratio guiding (just 2–5 guests per group)
  • Full-day or multi-day options
  • Access to rental gear if needed

It's the perfect next step after a few days of skiing deep snow Canada style with the cat or a great way to ease into the backcountry before going full throttle with cat skiing BC operations like White Grizzly, k3 cat skiing, or cat skiing Whistler.

How It Works

We base our touring trips out of Nelson, BC, just 90 minutes from the White Grizzly lodge. Choose from a:

  • Single-day ski tour (great as a warm-up or add-on)
  • Multi-day touring package (ideal for immersive backcountry exploration)

When you book your White Grizzly cat skiing adventure, just select the ski touring add-on  or contact us afterward and we’ll do our best to fit you in. Rental gear is available, and we’ll make sure all logistics are handled so your transition from cat tracks to skin tracks is smooth and stress-free.

Wrap Up: Double the Powder, Double the Adventure

There’s something incredibly special about skiing deep snow under your own power and even more so after a few thrilling days of powder skiing Canada style via snowcat. With the addition of ski touring to the White Grizzly experience, you can now enjoy the best of both worlds in one trip.

Whether you're fresh off a run with k3 cat skiing, looking for something more personal than cat skiing Whistler, or just want to take your cat skiing BC trip to the next level, our new guided touring program is the answer.
